About the course AS & A2 Level.
Your Religious Studies A-Level qualification will consist of two units per year : the philosophy of religion and religious ethics. Different topics within these units will be studied per year. Each year (AS and A2) is worth 50% of the overall A-level, meaning that each unit (in each year) is worth 25% of the overall A-level.
At AS level the modules for the study of the philosophy of religion and religious ethics are as follows:
Philosophy of religion (AS Level):
- Plato, the analogy of the cave and the forms
- Aristotle and the concepts of cause and purpose in relation to God
- The concepts of God as creator and the goodness of God
- The ontological argument
- The cosmological argument
- The teleological argument
- The moral argument
